Sofas and armchairs - how to make

Hi - want to model some real furniture from catalogues with all the curved members and upholstered parts and non straight parts but not familiar with curvy commands. Any good tutorial or recommendations?

Wow, There are some impressive sofa renderings from the Magician of a guy called Alvis. But I love all these ebooks that are available these days. Will these ebooks show me similar ways to make tufted sofas like Alvis?
