Additionally, a "make hole" function in SP would be amazing and time-saving!

Do you mean a hole in an object? Like, um, the bullet holes?[/quote]
A hole for a rotating rod.

SketchyPhysics won't work in SU2015 64bit; however, it will work in SU2015 32bit. Its up to Chris Phillips to compile a 64 bit compatible dll and dylib for the the project. I don't have full source to the project.

Each track piece must be divide into groups for proper collision generation. I don't want to go into details, but here is the fixed model. I hope you can figure out what you done wrong with your tracks by comparing them.

There are several ways to install plugins in 2014, which one did you choose?

May I jump in on this thread gents. I've recently purchased a new pc,loaded SU2014Make and SP3.5.5.. Kept getting that annoying warning about a bad install so I went back a step and loaded an earlier version, 3.1. Now, full install seems OK but the plugin is permanently disabled. Try as I might, I can't get it to do anything but say it will be disabled next time I fire up my pc. Any answers please. If I have to go into DOS or similar, please explain all steps.

                        Hello,
It would be nice if you provide me some more details.

                        • What warning message do you get?

                        • What operating system are you using?
Regardless of that, I don't think SketchyPhysics 3.1 will work in SU2013 or above. Keeping it in the 2014 plugins folder is useless. I suggest you to go to C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins, and erase all sketchy physics versions from the folder. Then, download the SP3.5.5 if you hanven't so, and extract content into the plugins folder. It should look like this:
                          *...\Plugins*

                        • SketchyPhysics3

                        • SketchyPhysics.rb

Hope this helps or provide some details if you can't get it working.

That file is from old sketchyphysics version. It seems you didn't delete sketchyphysics.rb from the plugins folder as i suggested in previous post.

Sorry to bother you again Anton but try as I might, I'm still not getting SP to work. All looks good when I view my files. All sub folder appear to be there but in SU, there's no sign off it.
                              Is this correct?
                              C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\Plugins\SketchyPhysics3
In the SP3 folders, there's every thing I would expect.
Where else should there be folders or files that I can check?
BTW, I completely uninstalled/deleted everything and started again with a fresh download.

                                C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\Plugins\SketchyPhysics3

Ah, I see your problem. SketchUp 2014 has its plugins folder in different location. SU2014 and above have their plugins folder in AppData, while prior version have their plugins folder in Program Files. Delete the plugins folder you created in C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014, and use the correct path, C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins.
The easy way to get to AppData is to write and send %appdata% in your windows explorer address bar, and from there you could navigate to your plugins folder.

The final path should look like this:
                                *C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins*

                                SketchyPhysics3
                                SketchyPhysics.rb

I'd suggest you to erase all the prior sketchy physics version if you installed any. You don't need them to get the latest version working.

Here is the similar post to consider if I didn't make it clear: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=61%26amp;t=59782#p544700

Hope you can get it working, I will add installation instructions to the main post.

I shared emails with Chris the other day and he and I both agree its time to get the original source code for the libraries out into the community. (Chris really did all the work and created SP, I just did the port to OS X).

Despite our best intentions, we will never pick up the threads and get SP going as fast as Anton and you (the rest of the passionate SP community) are doing.

What is the preferred method you'd like for getting the source code into the hands of the community?

For those that are confused by this - I'm not talking about the Ruby code. I'm referring to the C code in the extension libraries that hook the SP ruby code into the Newton physics library and other assorted Ruby C Extensions that access OS specific functionality and other libraries (like SDL, Midi support, etc...).

Thankyou very much Anton, it's all there now. I'll play with it a bit later (only just got up). As you been discussing, this needs to put out there for the wider community.
