Scania 164L
-
Scania 164L, one of the kids asked me to model a truck so here's my first (non-military)lorry. I started this with the aim of constructing it as a walk-through from the chassis up but abandoned that idea after getting as far as the cab interior and not knowing if there would be any interest.

Brilliant to see you posting John. Love your work. Fantastic. No squished frog on the wind screen though?!
-
Thanks everyone, forgot the frog!!
The next large model I make would people be interested in making it into a group model?
It would be great to have some new members join in as-well as experienced ppl, we could
split a model into bits and bring it back into a main collaboration. Any ideas or if
anyone be interested?John

I think that's a great idea John - 'Community modelling' - I'd be up for it.
-
The clay render is neat !! Great detailing !
I think you could count me in for a piece of the group project.
-
Thanks Lee, you'll enjoy it. It's a great way to work and everyone learns from each other.
Elisei that's brilliant, yesterday I was hoping you would join in.We need a few more on board then we can discuss a choice of model.
come on you know ye wanna!

Great image, John.
I'd be up to the community model project if schedule permits and depending on what it is. -
Thanks Daniel, the idea of a "community project" would be that each person would contribute as and when time permitted. The idea came when I bought the model in 1/24 scale to build and decided to model it in SU also. It was easier and more fun in SU believe me!
A model that stretched from beginner to advanced would be ideal! for instance a military vehicle or tank as it would need a backdrop of maybe an old derelict building. Each piece could be photographed and numbered, modelled and brought into a master model. Sounds like big kids fun to me

Like a SketchUp Airfix model!

Hello Lee, that was more or less what I was thinking, the reason being is if we could agree on what we are to model and who was interested by say Friday evening we could hopefully start things off by the weekend.
First we need suggestions for a model and second who wishes to take part.

I should have maybe said - I go away on holiday for 10 days next week. Happy to pick something up when I get back though.

I think it should be something that will drop jaws ! But who would be able to recompile all the objects ?
The textures are John's business for sure !!
I believe we/you(John) should start a new thread. I found a picture, it is more like a war scene than an object. http://image.yaymicro.com/rz_1210x1210/0/94c/miniature-army-men-war-scene-94c77d.jpg
