Help! I can't export to stl

Hi, Sketchup is refusing to export a model as an stl file, or at least claiming there are no faces or triangles to export. Also I can't find a way to uninstall the "Export STL file" Plugins menu item and try to reinstall it either. It is quite happy to export 3D files into Collada or other formats from the File menu, but my 3D printer wants stl only. Can anyone help please? Thanks, Tim.

I recommend the STL Extension by SketchUp, which appears in the File menu: File > Export STL.
If you do not have this menu item, then install the SketchUp STL extension from the Extensions Warehouse, and try again.
