all of the user created content is stored in the same location in your user library.

      ~/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2014/SketchUp

this is where your materials, plugins, styles, classifications, components, templates, autosave, and shortcuts will be stored..

some of these sub-folders will not be created until you make a custom element.. if you create and save a style in sketchup, the Styles folder will be created at that time.. it's also ok to manually create the folders if you so choose (and are certain about their proper name)..

at this time, there are some issues regarding migration with user created content inside sub-folders sharing similar names as the application provided content.

i suggest reading this post by a member of the sketchup team for further explanation:

        Thanks Jeff,

I'd already had a look at that thread, but still can't work out where to add style files. They're ones I've downloaded rather than created myself, so I presumed I had to put them into a style folder, but can't find one. There is one in my ~/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 8/SketchUp folder, but not in my ~/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2014/SketchUp folder.

I've tried by opening an existing collection, and then navigating to the downloaded files, but I can't open them. I think I'm missing something here! I've tried looking at styles help on SU help..but can't find the answer.

          do this:
          quit sketchup 2014

          • place all of your downloaded styles into a single folder named "Downloaded" (or choose your own name for this)
          • create a new folder named Styles
          • put the folder 'downloaded' inside the folder Styles
          • move the Styles folder to the following location:

          user/ Library/ Application Support/ SketchUp 2014/ SketchUp

launch sketchup and the folder 'downloaded' will be available in the styles browser.
