Inspired by Nick Ierodiaconou's keynote address at 3D Basecamp (worth watching the video when they make it available) I downloaded one of the designs from the Open Desk site and converted the DXF file into a SketchUp model. Here are a couple of quick, dirt simple renders of it.

Thank you Richard. It was meant to be plywood with some sort of plastic laminate. There's not much contrast in the plywood edge grain material so it doesn't read much like plywood, I guess.
