Populate with objects

Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a plugin that can populate a face or object with a selection of other objects. I have attached a picture of what I am trying to create, as well as a screen shot of my model. I'm hoping there's a plugin that will let me select the dome, and then select the objects on the right to "glue" their faces to and fill in the exterior of the dome. I don't think this exists but I thought I would ask around before I move them on there manually.

You might try component spray by Didier Bur, I believe. Not sure if it has been updated.
There may be other similar plugins.
