Motocross Track Creation on Sketchup
-
Hi everyone, I'm new to Sketchucation but not to Sketchup. I was just wondering if any of you guys have ever tried to construct a motocross track on Sketchup. But more importantly how you have gone about making berms and/ or bowl turns.

Hey, you can do it with different tools, but attached is a way I thought it would be easier . You need Fredo Scale plugin installed. Please don't mind the last 30 seconds as I was trying to paint the texture a bit smoother with some other plugin.
Cheers !

Thanks alot! That looks so much easier than what I was doing. I was using the scale and rotate tools to make the shape of the berm, and then I had to connect each face together with the line tool. The attached images are how I was doing this. After I did this to one side I copied, pasted, rotated and scaled it to be the mirror image of the berm.

Glad it helped !
You can use follow me tool to create the initial curved geometry then you can use the scale tool to raise the geometry as you did for your profiles, but it will still be slower than with the Fredo's Scale. -
I'm having difficulties when trying to download and install Fredo Scale in Sketchup. Any ideas on how to do this? Your help is very much appreciated.

What Sketchup version do you have ? Do you get any errors ? Some plugins require an additional file to be able to work. For example this plugin requires LibFredo6
( http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=144180#p144180 ) to be able to work, so you will search that in the plugin store and install it too.
I would advice you to install the Sketchucation plugin store, then you search it there and you choose autoinstall from there and it will install automatically .http://sketchucation.com/resources/plugin-store-download .
It should work with no problems.
If you don not wish to install the plugin store, then download the plugin from here http://sketchucation.com/resources/pluginstore?mod=1 then with the Sketchup open, go to Window/Preferences/Extensions and see the Install Extensions button from lower left corner .
Take care !

As an advanced user of SketchUp you should know about installing a plugin...
