Change paper size defaults in print menu?
-
Hi there...
On program start up Layout keeps re-setting the default paper size in the print menu back to A4, I hardly ever print on A4 paper at all...so this is very unpleasant! Is there a way to set A3 as the default paper size?
Regards
David

I'm having the same issue.... I think you have to set the default paper size for the system.

how do you set the default paper size for the system?

You go to your Printer Panel that shows all your printers and right click on the default printer and then go to Printing Preferences>Page Size>ARCH D

You should be able to set A3 by either using:
FILE>NEW, pick the paper template from the dialogue and at the bottom select "Always Use The Selected Template"
or
EDIT>PREFERENCE>STARTUP and enter the required template name and select use default.
The Startup page gives you a number of template options as to how LO works when you start a new drawing.

Hi ArCad-UK
I tried the setting A3 templates for start up...
On start up I also checked by going to: File > Document Setup > Paper - the paper size shows up as A3.
But if I print it still prints in A4, unless I go to: File > Page setup and re-set it from default A4 to A3. Note: if I set it to A3, save the file and restart the program it will revert back to A4, and it starts all over again...very annoying.Any ideas?

Ah I see. You have to go through FILE>PAGE SETUP this happens a lot in Windows where software doesn't retain the paper size and adjust the printer for you. I tend to favour the export to PDF option which gets around the problem in the paperless age but even Adobe Reader needs you to configure the paper if you want a hard copy.
