MEP clash detection
-
Hello Everyone,
I've been using sketchUp for a few years now and have recently been using if for a construction project. Last week was assigned the daunting task of MEP coordination and would like to make use of clash detection. Does anyone know of a plugin or technique used for such a task?
Anything this point will help.

Hi:
I did a search for "clash detection in sketchup".
I discovered Gaieus doing double time advising in the Google forums.
I also discovered a link in one of the replies: SuSolid.com This appears to be a tool that incorporates several other tools? Not sure.
There are free and pro versions for Sketchup 8.
If you have Sketchup 8 Pro, susolid will do intersections for you in an automated way.
The author appears to be from Slovenia.Maybe this will help?

As far as I know, SuSolid is the only plugin that can display you collisions between solid entities from different subgroups/subcomponents.
The Solid Intersection tool will make your model looks transparent and will show you intersections in solid green color with solid red edges,so very visible. It also has an intersection counter,so you know if there are some small intersections that maybe you can miss.
The plugin will also help you a lot to check and make all your components solid.
