      just a question...
      WHY does the texture position changes if you group an object?!? And even more annoying: after you have edited the position inside a group and close the group?!? It then sometimes moves to a completely different position.

        It should not changed after you edited the position inside a group.

        As for why it changes originally: unpositioned textures have a default position always starting at the origin (one of the texture's corner is positioned there). Once inside a group of component however (which are in fact embedded mini-models inside a main SU model), the texture picks up the group's / component's origin as "starting point".

        If you position a texture on a face and only group it afterwards, it should not change position when grouped.

          Check to see that your group is not textured. The surfaces inside should be textured, the group should be default. I'm pretty sure you accidentally textured your group.

            Thanks for your answers!

            @Gaieus
            I'm not sure, if i understand what you are saying... I have positioned the texture before i made the group (which is nested in two other groups) and after. But nothing helped.
            I have moved the faces now to a separated new group one level higher and then back into the group and it's working now. Or maybe a restart of sketchup has helped... i'm not sure.
            I have noticed this behavior from time to time, but not always.

            @Sonder
            I never apply a texture to a group/component - and i had checked this already, but thanks!
