Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
-
Cheers everyone! I'm doing fine, thanks for asking Oli. 8 weeks, no smoking....WOW! I had to check the calendar, I've forgotten already. But that's a good sign, right? I didn't tried a cigarette ever since, not even one puff. I don't crave, and I'm not curious.
I tried several liquids (brands) and I have a new favourite, LiQua, american blend, 18-12 mg. I'm not sure I can go with 12 mg nicotine from now on, because sometimes, I just need more. Then I use 18 mg. My Evods are going strong, even the cracked one. I can't find 1.8 ohm resistance, but my supplier said only 1.8 and 2.2 are shipping in the next transport, so it will be better. I'm active on a forum, here in my country, and this guys seams obviously concerned about all the news regarding banning ET smoking around the world. They say will buy buckets of liquid base and flavours, if some imminent kind of restrictions are going to happen . Until then, I'll enjoy my vapours.
Clouds of tasting vapours for everybody!
Edit:
Pete, are these tanks available for you? That's what I call "pimp my vivi nova"

Yes they are, I have 3 of them, I'm using one at the moment

I don't think they will ban e-cigs in EU, rather they will heavily tax them. We live in a sick, sick world if they allow cancer sticks to be sold but restrict the possible solution. I hear the EU are proposing to reduce E-liquid nicotine to 4mg maximum, I just don't see the point. I do, however, think they will be banned in public places....just because they can!
-
Saw this online, cannot vouch for it's accuracy, interesting however.

roll on 15 years because I've quit for life!
They don't mention how much improvement you get to smell and taste; I could hardly smell anything when I was smoking, now I'm like a dog!!
The rule of thumb I was told....it takes half the time to recover from the total time you've been smoking. So if you've been smoking for 10 years, it takes 5 years to recover completely. 30 years smoking, 15 years to recover etc.
I don't know how true that is, but it seems likely. I used to think once the damage is done, it's done, but that isn't the case.

If didn't realise it made you so flexible, if you keep doing that they'll put a lampshade around your neck!

let them do it!!

Pete is that the vivi nova 2? supposed to produce more vapour and better flavour than the first version as it's dual coiled. gotta try one some time.
I had to go back up to 16mg nicotine E-Liquid. The 11mg just wasn't cutting it, started getting a bit fidgety.
The liquid I buy is great but the supplier is a total moron. It takes almost 2 weeks to receive a delivery! Still looking for a reliable UK supplier with nice flavours. I even have to email the owner with my invoice to ensure it actually goes through, he promised me some free E-Liquid after the delay in delivery last time but I doubt it will happen.
Cloud 9 Vaping are supposed to be stocking more varied flavours in the future so they will be my go-to guys, quality service every time, just a shame they don't yet have the flavours I want.

Yes it is, I just bought a set of 10 atomizers (dual coil) for $ 3.15 each atomizer, I use the 2.8 ohm and set my power on the Provari at 4.6, I find that the best setting for huge vapor , full flavor and they last long.
-
lol $3.15!! in UK they retail at around £10 each!! do you have to replace the whole unit or do you just buy new coils? I also have my provari at around 4.6, I find anything less than 4 is pretty pointless and over 5 is too harsh.

sweet, just what the doctor ordered! It's like the daddy version of the EVOD coil! I wish more people in the UK would buy atomizers like the vivi nova and EVOD, everyone seems to be vaping an EGO! Much better value for money when you can replace coils.

I guess it's just that we have a bigger market, vaping is getting mainstream, I now have 7 vape stores within 10 miles, when this thread started there were only three. I saw my local 711 convenience store now has EVO starter vapes in stock right next to the stupid Blu e-cig crap.
-
my local sweet shop has started stocking them too! i've not seen anyone with anything but an EGO over here, i guess the shops are looking for a quick cheap sale rather than trying to sell benefits of a slightly more expensive product. the vape shops are popping up everywhere over here too, but all seem to be selling same old stuff. I'm just glad it's catching on though!
-
I think it's all about experience. Experienced vapers will go on-line . When I started vaping, I didn't knew about genesis, mods, mechanical mods, VV, VW,etc. I guess that's why they are called "starter kits".
An as a side note, I just discovered "Cuban Cigar". I'm vaping my ass of, since I bought it. It is 75 PG 25 VG. The brand is LiQua.
Oli, I can buy Vivi Nova's with 6.7 euro, -
So I've been on board for about a month now it seems no smokes .
But the only local shop carried the Blu e cig and I'm ready to get more serious about this and would like some suggestions for an up grade maybe $150. range or cheaper if I could. I've been following this thread and I don't want to mess around with changing wicks at this point. just one that has the button for the battery and e liquids refills and order in USA along with a web site link. Once again Oli thanks for getting me on to this and everyone else.

Well done no smokes!! Keep it going you'll easily stay smoke free by upgrading your vape.
For that price I would recommend the Kanger EVOD kit, you'll still have plenty of change left over to buy E-liquids.
After a couple of weeks you need to replace the coil in the EVOD, but don't worry they just screw in, 10 second job. It is MUCH more cost effective to do this over buying a whole new unit every time.
I cant recommend any vape shops in USA, but many of them will stock and sell the EVOD. Just google a vape shop near to you, it's a very popular product and easily available.
So make sure you get all these in your kit:
-EVOD atomizer
-EVOD battery x2
-Mains and USB Charger comboIf you only get one battery in the kit, buy a spare one.
You also need to buy some replacement coils. They cost around $1.50 so buy 10 and they will last you around 6 months. When you buy replacement coils you can choose the resistance on the website. If possible order the 1.8ohm version.
Now all you need to buy are some nice E-liquids!! I recommend 18mg if you have already been vaping for a month.
If you need any help, link me to the website you are looking at and I'll help you choose.
-
I dont know if this is a good website or not, but its US based. I'm just using it as a guide, you may find better prices elsewhere.
EVOD kit...contains 2 complete EVODs which is good for the price.

Replacement coils:

you can change the ohm rating to 1.8 in the "Choose Options" section.
Then just choose your liquids.
Oh and post photos when you get your delivery!
-
I got me an Evod thanks to Oli's advice.
I now smoke 4-6 cigs a day and dropping.
I've Menthol and Coffee flavours. Tried B&H tobacco and nearly puked.
Enjoying vaping but not yet ready to kick the habit.

yeah seems there is lots of variation in prices over here. some are £7 some are £10. And I know you can buy them in bulk for $3 each, so that's around 500% profit!! cheeky! I only ask because I was gonna buy my mother a provari mini and vivi nova for her birthday but may be a bit pricey. There is no way in hell she'd be able to recoil a kayfun. she's happy with her EVOD though so may just buy her some coils and juice.
I buy E-liquid at £2.60 for 10ml but most places sell it for £5 or more. Really annoying trying to find a good value shop with a selection of flavours. Everyone is jumping on the vaping bandwagon and charging silly money for the products, like it's some bespoke and trendy item. I would stick with the company I buy from now but their service is appalling, I ordered more juice 2 days ago and still no confirmation email of dispatch or anything. I email the owner and he just goes incommunicado.
I like the blueberry but the first few vapes of the day are a bit "perfumey", then it's nice.
I would like a tobacco flavour but with some sweetness, I may try RY4 or RY3 flavours which appear to be popular sweet tobacco liquids. I'm glad you're enjoying the cuban cigar!
14 weeks smoke free for me!! it works!!
