Any smokers here? Wanna quit?

So I got a vape, the target pro http://www.vaporesso.com/vape-kits-target-pro-vape-kit
and I'm getting used to vaping, but this setup makes me cough! Is that because of the type of vape, or the juice? The juice is from Dinner lady, called lemon tart http://vapedinnerlady.com/dinner-lady-range/ It's marked 6 mg.

Hi.
In the time it takes me to put these thoughts together, it is likely someone else will post some of the same things. I am not an expert, and I suggest you get more than one opinion on the following info. I also waited a couple of days in case someone else responded:I didn't look too hard at your links.
However, the flavor might be so tart that it is causing the cough. Does a sneeze follow the cough? I get that sometimes, and I am now down to zero mg.
Are you allergic to propylene glycol? Allergy to this is a common factor. Unless your juice is maximum ratio glycerine(typically flavors are mixed with minimal PG as a carrier/solvent, so there may always be some PG).
Could 6mg nicotine/ml juice be too much to start? Then get some 0mg and mix down with different ratios, if you have the time to fiddle with it.
Some flavors are more delicate than others and don't need extreme power to deliver the taste, so:
Have you set the voltage/wattage too high, or, if you have temperature control, is this set too high?
If you have other questions you might check out ecf or: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com Just about every question since 2008 or thereabout has been explored.
Maybe the above will help.

Some good advice! I'll go talk with the place I bought it at and ask them these same questions, appreciate it!

I vape 6mg juice at 9watts. Any higher and I find the throat hit too severe.
-
Some flavours cause more throat hit than others, especially citrus ones.
If you want something smooth I recommend a blend of 70/30 VG/PG as opposed to 50/50 VG/PG.
It's the PG that can catch your throat, not the VG.
PG carries flavour well and VG creates good clouds.
And yeah, play round with your device settings.....start low and increase to where you like it. If it tastes bad, go backwards haha

Everyone is different but this has worked for me starting out:
1)3 mg nicotine
2)coils rated for 20 - 35 wattsLike Oli said, don't waste your money on "premium" e-juice. I did and found that the $11 120ml juice from Broke Dick was just as good or better. Ordering some DIY supplies today.
Got a Smok Alien my second week of vaping. Marvelous piece of work. One evening over a few beers I vaped some 6 mg nicotine @ 65 watts and got sicker than a dog. Lesson learned. Now when I want to blow clouds I use 0 nic juice.
Don't be afraid of watts. Most juices shine at higher wattages and taste totally different than rocking it at 20 watts. More watts = more money though. You'll go through coils and juice faster. I use a combination of both low and high wattage now that I have growing collection of mods and tanks.

Olly, seen this?

Exactly so Oli
Here I am.

Of course I managed this e-cig thing. (As I mastered the other Blender monster LOL)
Two years into the vapeland. No smoking, not at all.
I vape a 6mg 50/50 PG VG DIY. On a ~1.7 Ohm. ~ 4.2 V / 10.4 W (the Ohm's Law)
I tried sub Ohm, however I found that a lower than 3mg might work for me. Well, it didn't. -

Yes, there seems to be more vapers than smokers over here now. There are vaping bars, lounges, cafes, coffeeshops, etc..
The TPD regulations came in but they haven't affected me at all because I make my own juice. I can still buy everything I need no problem and it's still just as cheap.
Tank sizes are now 2ml (give or take) and bottles are being sold in 10ml units now (lol).

Hello Michalis, hope you are well. Not spoken to you in ages!
Really great news on quitting tobacco, you must feel a whole lot better.
I'm still smoke free after 4 years now.
I'm on 3mg nicotine, still doing DIY liquid. I've been slowly cutting down the amount I vape too. I don't think I could ever smoke a cigarette ever again, it would feel totally alien.
I currently mix three main flavours.....Pinkman, Mangabeys and Veuve Red. I only buy larger bottles of flavouring now too (100ml+). Saves lots of money.
Veuve Red is from ExtraDIY Paris......one shot flavouring @ 15%.
Pinkman is from VapoursRUs UK.....one shot flavouring @ 15%.
Mangabeys is a mix of 5 flavours from Vapable website @ 17%.Here is my Mangabeys recipe if anyone wants it. Tastes very complex, rounded and tropical. The dragonfruit rounds it off. Really tasty.
1% Flavour Apprentice Dragonfruit
5% Flavour Apprentice Mango
5% Flavour Apprentice Pineapple
4% Capella Sweet Guava
2% Capella Sweet LycheeNo sweetener necessary. Flavour Apprentice is also called Perfumer's Apprentice.

Has anyone used/tried the nicotine salts instead of the standard nicotine liquid?

You Don't Know Nicotine - Documentary Film
Just made a small pledge to this guy in the hope that it will help him make his documentary. His last documentary, A Billion Lives, was excellent.

Concerned about how addicated I still am to nicotine...And not sure how much Nic I am actually vaping.
I vape a lot more than I used to smoke. So just tried a little experiment. I keep a bit of tobacco on hand for rare joints. (Bad back:)
I rolled up a cig from my 16/18Mg tobacco and bugger me, it gave me the spins. Not pleasant.
So I think this tells me 8Mg will be about right. And I am definitely needing less Nic than I used to.
(4 years this April).

Are any of you vapers having second thoughts now about vaping? Any of you having lung issues like the ones being reported here in the States?
"CDC says stop vaping as mystery lung condition spreads. Vape lung is spreading and the CDC is warning people not to use vaping products while they are investigating the cause. In a media briefing, the public health agency said that some 450 people are now thought to be affected, and as many as five have died."

Hello people!
I thought I'd give a review on the E-Cigs I have been using to quit smoking.
Now I tried everything. Patches, gum, spray, inhalator, will-power. But I could not stop that urge to smoke; to feel something on my throat, to breathe out smoke while relaxing. I also found it difficult keeping my hands busy....chewing pens etc.
To people who don't smoke this sounds bizarre. Smokers know what I mean.
Anyway, a friend introduced me to those generic E-Cigs. The ones that actually look like cigarettes. I was overwhelmed at first but they are so expensive it comes close to buying a packet of cigarettes. They run out very quickly and you get hardly any vapour (which looks and feels like smoke, to people who don't know what I mean).
I then discovered a new type of E-Cig. It changed my life!! There is not much choice in the UK for these, but I found a company who sells a type called the EGO. (EGO is the most basic and cheapest E-Cig)
Now I am not declaring this is the best E-Cig around, I am just astounded by the vaping experience! There is a huge selection of tobacco flavoured E-Liquids or even fruity ones, I am using a Red Bull flavour which is just perfect for me. Most people start on a nicotine strength of 24mg....over time you can reduce this to 18mg, then 12mg etc. Each flavour has various strengths of nicotine and you will find you get a better "hit" from these than you do off a real, horrible cigarette. Fantastic smoking (or should I say vaping) experience.
So...over 5 weeks I've not had a cigarette. It's not been difficult, I've not missed cigs, I can continue to fool my body into "smoking" and it's not harmful. I can breathe in without a crackling/wheezy chest and I no longer wake up coughing. It's bizarre to feel so healthy so quickly. Best of all, I've saved an absolute fortune. Because you top-up the E-Liquid and charge the unit yourself, you save sooooo much money. I get all of the pleasure and none of the guilt! [UPDATE: Still not had a cigarette in 2 YEARS!!!]
There really is no excuse for smoking any more....this is actually a better smoking experience and your health will improve DRAMATICALLY!! Just look at some videos and see how much vapour you get!
**If you read through this thread there are other videos and information on even better E-Cigs, if anyone can share info on their "vaping" devices let us know. I'll keep updating if I receive any more reviews and advice.
Tested in this thread so far:
Mods (Battery devices):
-Provari P3
-Provari V2.5
-Provari V2.5 Mini
-Ego Twist Battery
-Innokin iTaste MVP V2
-Svoemesto Semovar V3
-Kanger K-SimarAtomizers:
-The EGO or VGO
-Kanger EVOD BCC
-Vivi Nova
-Kayfun 3.1 rebuildable
-Kanger Protank
-Innokin iClear 30
-Various drippers
-Kayfun Lite +
-Kanger Protank 3
-Aspire NautilusCurrent test:
-Provari P3 with the Svoemesto Kayfun Lite Plus....excellent setup**
I am now recommending the Kanger Protank 3 and Aspire Nautilus as the best/easiest beginner setup. Easy to use, cheap to replace the coils and a very consistent device. I recommend using the 1.8 ohm coils with the EVOD for best flavour and vapour production; there is a choice between 1.8, 2.2 and 2.5. For a step-up in performance, I recommend the Kanger K-Simar mod with an Aerotank or Mega atomiser on top
Thirty years ago, I quit within 10 days......simply by drinking bottled water every time I got the urge to smoke another Marlboro. I had smoked for 25 years.

Used to smoke for a long time and then I started to run in the mornings. As both of this things doesn't work together I understood that I love running more so I quit smoking. Try to do more sport
