Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
-
haha true!
I don't think I'll ever truly quit vaping though. Man has smoked for millennia; some people like it and some people don't. Even if I used no nicotine I would still vape just to relax.
I never really wanted to quit smoking....I just had to because I felt like I was killing myself. I think vaping provides a good middle-ground between smoking and quitting completely; I owe my life to e-cigs!
Even if I just vape after a meal or with a stiff drink....it makes me happy and I really enjoy the taste. #ohmlife

Yep, well said mate.
I went to a party on Saturday night, it was held in a hotel function room, and ended up having to join the smokers outside while it was p!ssing down with rain....the venue didn't permit vaping indoors...!!
bugga eh ??

Me too!
Watch out tho, I managed to set off a smoke alarm at home at 3oc in the morning... missus was not happy. -
Count me too.
Using an iStick (40W from Eleaf) and an Aspire Nautilus head. Additionally a GS air-M head, which gives a more pleasant vaping on certain flavors-juices. (IMO of course)
Good bye ash trays….
BTW (under blender) it was my last ash tray concept for heavy smokers (and chocolates lovers as well he he ) -

How do you stealth vape when everyone sees a thumping great big Provari emerge for your pocket ?!!
Was at another pub last week and was vaping away and a friendly staff member asked "Excuse me sir are you vaping Nicotine."
I replied "No. Is that OK because I woudn't want to offend anybody?" (I usually ask if it's ok to vape and most venues permit it, but I sometimes forget to ask)
She said "That's fine as long as you don't vape nicotine"
To which I replied "Thank you for asking. Do you serve Eggplant, Sweet Potato, Potato, Green Peppers, Cauliflower, Tomatoes or Mushrooms with meals in the Dining Room ?"
"Yes we do, I have a feeling you are going to make a fool out of me !"
I said "My intention isn't to make a fool out of you, but as you have probably guessed, they all contain small amounts of nicotine"
I lied....my vape did contain nicotine, it was 6mg. But what the heck...I say it's trivial....and I'll wear the barrage of criticism if I am wrong...!!
Anyhow, you would need to eat huge amounts of those vegetables to give yourself nicotine poisoning.....but she didn't ask me that question..!
PS....I may be wrong about the Mushrooms !!

So where can I get those flavours?
No seriously, maybe time to start sharing your favorite E-liquids...?
My current fave is '925' from GoodLifeVapor. But I am wasting a lot of hard earned cash trying other flavors which don't do it for me.
Also, there seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there on what constitutes a 'good' liquid, in terms of quality of ingredients, quality control etc.
Whaddya reckon?
(5 months smoke free this saturday).

Good to see you on board Michalis!
Shops tend to make liquids seem more complex than they actually are. They are cheap and easy to make.
Basically you just need "vape safe" ingredients. There are only a few ingredients and you just have to make sure everything is pharmaceutical grade.
It only ever costs me £1 per 10ml to make my own liquid....so I'm usually very wary when people start selling £5 "deluxe" e-liquid. There is nothing deluxe about PG, VG, nicotine and flavouring. They package it in a fancy glass bottle and charge you double.
Just find a nice mixture that suits you Baz. Ignore what people say about PG/VG ratio; it all depends what you prefer and what works best in your device.
For example......In my Kayfun I use a 60/40 PG/VG mixture with 6mg Nicotine. In my subtank I do a 10/90 PG/VG ratio with 3mg Nicotine. What I'm saying is different devices work better with different liquids.
I highly recommend making your own liquid; so much cheaper and easier to find the perfect flavour. It's as easy as making a cup of tea.
All you need is;
PG, VG, PG based Nicotine, Flavourings, De-ionised water. You can mix flavours together for cockatils; I'm on a Blackcurrant, Grape and Banana mixture at the moment. Only buy "Vape-Safe" flavourings.

Hey Baz, well done getting to 5 months. Every day and moth is a personal milestone. And, before you know it a year will clock up....and that is a great feeling...!!
I agree, Good Life make some excellent flavours, and '925' is one of my all time favourites. I also love their 'El Kamino', 'Southern Shine' (requires a week of steeping though, but worth waiting for IMO) and 'Deadly Sin' is awesome. I wish someone in Australia could duplicate those flavours !
The Plume Room make a brilliant 'Banana Pudding' and I thought their 'Candied Cavendish' was pretty good too.
I haven't purchased from Good Life or the Plume Room for a few months now because a Vape Shop (the Vape Boutique) has opened and it's only 10 minutes away from my office which means I can get some excellent liquids and coils whenever I want rather than wait for a week or 10 ten days for stuff to arrive from overseas....and of course I also avoid the cost of freight.
They stock a huge range of eliquids made here in Adelaide and some of them are as good as the famous Plume Room and Good Life. They also stock a massive range of flavours for mixing your own eliquids.
I haven't tried mixing my own yet, but judging by Oli's success it should encourage me to give it a try. If it is as easy as he says, we should all be doing it !!

Cheers Oli, thanks Gareth, presumably the Adelaide stuff is nic free?

Yeh mate, the Adelaide stuff is nic free. I buy them as doublers and add my own nic. I bought 1.25 litres 24mg nicotine with 50/50 PG/VG about 18 months ago.
The 24mg is too strong for me now so I dilute it with VG and it ends up around 6-8mg.
Occasionally I mix with no nic....must admit, sometimes it takes me several hours to notice the difference and it makes me wonder how easy it would be to vape totally nic free. But I have the nic juice so I may as well use it until it runs out !!
-
Hey Baz.....took a peep at your profile and just realised you are in Melbourne.
Will have to catch up next time I'm over there !

Sure! About an hour south of Melbourne, in Mornington. Come for a sail.

I have an Architect mate in South Yarra....he has done a bit of work on the Mornington Peninsula.....I hear it's a lovely spot

I don't do DIY just for price....I just can't find premixed flavours I like any more. I would rather buy flavourings and make my own cocktails as the result is always better.
I occasionally buy premixed liquid from a shop....but they mix their own stuff. I have noticed that shops who sell their own concoctions often have better e-liquid. I don't know what it is about DIY but it seems to be higher quality than mass-produced e-liquid. Maybe because it's fresh I don't know?
I have also noticed some premixed e-liquids discolour when vaped, leave residue, go sickly tasting, harsh on the throat etc....always seems to be chinese imported ones. Lots of premixed liquid in the UK is very high PG and I can't stand that; gives me a tight throat.

My problem with vaping:
I would like to be able to "smoke", not to "drink"
My setup: iStick TC40W, aspire Nautilus (large 6ml / ~1.8 Ω)
Now testing "Halo" liquid, "Longhorn" flavor.
Not bad at all, however, sometimes I find myself rather drinking than smoking.
(yeah, using the largest hole for the air) (tested 8.5-10.5 W)edit:
Just trashed this expensive aspire nautilus. I really enjoyed the sound.
back in cigarettes, the real ones, the dangerous ones.
Sorry, I better be a smoker than a drinker.
Can't give up, too much for me. Though I spent ~400 euros in two weeks, for nothing.I asked a few friends about it.
Funny, they all share the same opinion.
So, I'm asking, what's up doc ?
How do you manage this drinking thing? -
Sorry to hear that your experience hasn't been enjoyable.
Yep, we have all probably had an incident or two with flooding. I use an Aspire Nautilus and it works a treat.
It took me a while to settle into vaping (finding nice liquids, and something reliable to fit onto my Provari). But eventually it replaced smoking completely, and I don't regret it for a moment.
Geeeeeeez.....I'm sounding like a preacher...!!

No, no, five people here, this is not an incident. Flooding always, always.
Probably a bad equipment, this nautilus. I wonder though, how you manage such an unfortunate thing.
Still wondering.
IMO,this small resister thing. Problematic at least. The cotton? Who knows.I wish you were sounding like a preacher…
Sorry. It doesn't work for me, no, for us…
I wish it would.
