Different projects, different requirements. Sometimes photoreal just won't do.
Mix of Sketchup, Photoshop & Fotosketcher. C&C Welcome.

Wow. Great shading without a renderer. How do you do that? (I've used gradients but so slow and never so good.) One thing to check. Lines in sky above the building on the right. I suppose the big light dots are some sort of copyright protection?
-
Thanks, the shading and such is pure photoshop. The basic export is very simple indeed, if there's enough interest I'll do a video tutorial and explain any techniques used. The lines above the building are there because there's a handrail up there, but the glass had (for some reason) become uber transparent.
As for the light dots, they're just a bit of artistic license, I thought they looked nice; aside from that they serve no purpose.

Thanks for the feedback guys! As is always the way, workload has suddenly gone nuts so may have to temporarily postpone the video; but I definitely will do it when I get the chance to.

Very nice composition, I love your entourage where did you get those people in your scene?
Thanks,

Good work Chris. You've undoubtedly got talent and your blog has some fantastic stuff. Really like the composition and the frame proportions, and the overall shading is great. But in terms of NPR, you need to push it a little further. Decide what type of trad media you want to emulate and head that way with a bit more conviction.

Very nice!
