      Dear all

I tried to draw our house (http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=50439) and now I need to draw the sourrounding area because we will need a drawing for our gardener to let him make the new stone path / retaining wall and to use the drawing also as annex for the building application.

I really have problems drawing that. We have a lot of faces and flanks on our parcel and I have no idea, how to do that. I tried it with sandbox tool. But it seems not to be the best way or at least I have difficulties.

      Some images of our parcel:

      A first try:

(I know, I have not yet executed all your tipps from thread http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=50439 - I will do it as soon as I have the time...)
-> The rounded stone path must also be lowered... I know, a lot of work.

Do you have some tipps, how to go about that? - It must not be perfect; I cannot afford a lot of time - some hours, not some days...
      Any idea?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Well, it should definitely be the sandbox tools somehow. Ideally you would get the lot surveyed and use the contour lines to create the topo itself (to have it at least somewhat accurate). If that is not possible (time and money), you need to "eyeball" it. Make a sandbox from scratch (but with much denser subdivision) and use the smoove tool to create the bumps (that small "hill) on it.

When you are done, use the house as a "stamp" for the stamp tool to get the top of your terrain flat and the house sitting nicely on top. The bottom of your house does not need to be completely flat but it may not contain vertical "steps" (faces).

Thank you Gaieus, it is incredible, your fast and excellent help! I will try it in the afternoon!

          Of-Topic:
If we have a surface (e.g. created by some lines) on the bottom, then we use push/pull e.g. +2m to build a body: now, if we push/pull it down again by 2m -> the surface is deleted. Can we avoid that? - Or: what is the best way to modify the footprint of this push/pulled body, if we want to apply this new footprint also on top of the body? - I hope you understand, what I mean.

          Thanks a lot,

I am not sure I understand but try to press the Ctrl key when PushPulling. It should leave a face where you start the PP operation.

Well, pressing Ctrl will keep the whole original body instead of just leaving the face.

Okay, maybe I did misunderstand. πŸ˜„

If you only want to copy that face, select it and use the Move tool with the Ctrl key pressed to move a copy of it. If you want to move it vertically (if I understand correctly), press the up or down arrow key (no need to keep it down) to force the move operation along the blue axis.

                Gai...

Ah, OK, that it is. Instead of Push/Pull to go back to the face, I can use Move and the down arrow. That is what I was looking for.
                  Once more: thanks a lot!
