[feeler] Make 2D of View
-
just feeling this out to see if it's even possible..
it's basically a way to trick sketchup into giving a mixture of Wireframe & Hidden Line modes.. Which would then enable the user to export only line work for overlay patterns on renders..
as i see it, exactly what the user sees on their screen would be flattened to their screen.. at which point, you could turn on wireframe and export the proper lines..
make sense? probably not
if need be, i'll try to explain it better and or upload some reference images..(OR.. if there's another easier way to combine wireframe & hidden line then that's even better)

Jeff, you're looking for wireframe with hidden back lines showing, and have the rest of the model virtually disappear or become perfectly white or something?

no.. i'm talking about the face style "hidden line" ..not the edge style "back edges"
what happens is this..
• switch to hidden line
• it appears as if you're only seeing lines on your screen (the lines i want in this case)
• however, click on a face and notice it selects.
• export 2D png or tif with transparency (req tt's plugin for windows)
• the faces didnt' export transparent so you can't simply overlay the lines onto a render..some i'm just trying to figure out (or more specifically, see if someone else can figure out ) how to obtain only the line work visible in hidden line view..
does that make more sense?

ok.. scratch that idea..
amateur photoshop user mistake..(i mean, feel free to make it if you think it's possible but it's no longer on me as to who requested it )
