Animate Parent-Child connection

I was sure I had found out how to make my table model raise and lower with subcomponents placed inside a parent component. I found This example showing multiple animations:

Tried to set up my model same way but it wont work..?
Can anybody help me? I have been trying to solve this for a very long time now..
