With Naval cruiser escorts. The cruisers are each the size of a modern aircraft carrier.

That's a lot of work Bryan, it's looking good. I see some hi res nasa shots on the web that space look of really high contrast and illumination is needed for authenticity. Could you illuminate the scene with that background image ? Also i know that adding dirt maps would help although this is something i need to learn myself.

Spectacular concept! When can I get an operators manual? Or... what are the pole/rod like projections with the blue tips? Is the ship for establishing one colony or more? Very good work...

Everything's alright now, the photographer's here.

Thanks chedda. I will try the galactic stars shot as well, but the new 2.5 hour render time due to the addition of ship's lights is limiting how many times I want to experiment.

As for authenticity using weathering, there is no weathering. The hull is electrostaticly charged and self healing and repels wear and tear. This is science and technology available now. But I also need to learn weathering. It's just not right for this image and may never be right again for any of my sci-fi work.

Thanks Lloyd, See the next picture.

There will be a sort of operations manual, but it will be just a hobby project over the course of the next year. This thing is HUGE.

The blue tipped poles are long range communications transceivers. The ship is used many times. Too great an investment for one time use.

Below is the latest render. I've added ship's light. YOU MUST ENLARGE TO SEE THE DETAILS. Please note the faint glow of the runway lights on the starboard side. You can't see more because the braces are blocking the rest. There are not more windows as the area is the cargo/factory/fabrication/repair mid-deck. Not exactly the tourist area. Also, all colony cabins have full immersion walls while the central arch is a large park with artificial sky and changeable skylights when people want to see the outside space. No need for windows.

As stated I will be doing a sort of manual/guide for this ship as the internals are what help define the external design, but it will take several more months.
