I try to rotate the blue line

      http://i48.tinypic.com/eir0qg.png

into the point in red circle.
But I am helpless. I don't know where to click. I know I should click first on the bottom point of the line.

      1. There is black circle with green dot placed horizontally
      2. There is blue circle with green dot placed horizontally
      3. There is black circle with green dot placed on left roof surface - skewed
      4. There is black circle with green dot placed on right roof surface - skewed
        Which one I should click?

Also should I lock it with shift before I drag towards the red circle?

      Then should I click on

      1. purple/violet dot
      2. green dot (it is placed on streight line going out of the blue line)
      3. black dot
      4. red

      I'm quite not sure.

Ps: I change object imported from gallery, originally obviously purposed for Google Earth.

The protractor will automatically align, or plant itself on the plane face it hovers over. If it hovers over a face not aligned with the xyz red, green, blue, it will be a black protractor. Hover over the face that has the edge you wish to rotate, press and hold the Shift key to lock on that face and place the black protractor on the pivot point. Release the shift key, then click the end of the line you wish to rotate.

Should not the roof surface be one surface with no internal edges? You may need to fix that. Also, if you are doing this in the midst of a lot of other stuff, it would be a good idea to make a group or component of it, then edit within.

EDIT: If I were trying to make a transitional roof in this situation between two others, or between some roof and a wall, I would probably draw it line by line with the idea that it would be one plane with one face, so that your texture would be uniform in appearance.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

I actually dont know what is internal edge and ind if it has. You think it has not?

I see the wall is deformed. Probably I should to deform the "North" part of the wall because it is very thick.

I should change the view to select the edges and deform them. What view to select? Coz I don't see inside the wall.

I meant that the roof surface has triangles and the shingle texture is in all directions- not aligned logically as a uniform texture.
It appears that the model was not constructed in an orderly manner. Unless you are on some crushing time schedule, it may be worthwhile to reconstruct some parts, again with the idea that large planes would be uniform surfaces with few, or no internal triangles.
You don't have to paint everything from the get-go. Often, applying materials and colors early on will just make the model heavier, possibly causing navigation problems.
This discussion may go longer than I presently have time to participate. If anyone else would like to weigh in, please do.

The image is not clear enough, but if the task is to close the roof, it is possible to move the vertex instead rotating the line:

              • nothing selected
              • change to move tool (shortcut: m)
              • click endpoint of line and move vertex to destination

Mitcorb is right, I have to delete the triangles and create some inner edges.
