Hi guys, Work have specified this particular chandelier to be used in one of their schemes,so now its down to me to model it and use in some vray interior perspectives.

This is an image of the chandelier

Would anyone be able to give me a few tips with creating it (e.g. any useful plugins that can be used and it would be great if those of you that use vray could give me any help with achieving the correct crystal settings.

      Thank you in advance

not so organic.. it seems you need just to do a sphere component and circle array it as desired..

Actually you may have sparked a very interesting discussion here.
First, with this image of the chandelier, it is very difficult to see how it is actually made. Are those individual spheres? Are they crystal? How are the held together in this shape?
Would it be possible for you to post a better image?
However, the most interesting part of the discussion may be how to model the spheres, and give them the material which has a scattering coefficient, and optics that will mimic the real chandelier.

          Just monkeying around....like Monsanto

I find this to be an interesting challenge. However, my result will probably take me days, not hours or minutes, and it won't be too pretty. 😆
One approach would be to get physical measurements of some sort.
Determine size of spheres. The whole unit looks like a segment of a sphere.
From top to bottom there are regular slanted rows of 8. Figure out how many rows, equate this to angles and do a circular array of the slanted rows with the appropriate spherical curvature.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

It doesn't look that difficult but you do need some basic dimensions!

The crystals look to be all the same size hemispheres so make them a component.
From a decent copy of the picture count the number of crystals in a ring. and use that in your array.
The alternate rows are staggered 50% of the array angle e.g. if there are 36 crystals then the angle between them will be 10 degrees, the next row should be rotated 5 degrees from the one below.
Before creating the array set the vertical angle of the crystal to suit the profile of the fitting.

This is all simple SU, no plugins required.

Edit: On closer inspection they might just be spheres 😳 in which case you can ignore the vertical angle bit.
Another tip would be you can create it so the top half is a (component) mirror of the botton but rotated that half angle.

i agree.. is quite simple modeling-wise but it can be quite tricky to attempt reproduce it exactly without proper dimensions or at least a better image..

                  Speedy try
Just with Move, Scale, Rotation Array 😄
And you can deform after if it's ellipsoïde or something else
