(plugin) instant wall

Just bought it. It is quite an impressive plug-in and time saver. however, it is an annual subscription and not sure if it is another fee next year or whether you pay for new styles in addition only. Maybe the owner can clarify.

How come Vali Architect plugins never seem to make it on the plugin index list?
I bought instant wall today and it is incredible! Saved me a weeks worth of work and the walls came out beautiful. Simply an amazing plugin. Thanks SketchUcation for the plugin list - very-very helpful.

@vacstudio:
Vali Architect is listed as "chuck vali" in the Plugins Index and offers Instant Roof. -
Its a very good plugin, but I'm not happy with the subscription. Plugins should be a one off purchase and if there are new features added, bug fixes and many updates then a subscription model would make sense, but to "rent" it out (ie one does not own the plugin under the current system) is a bit funny.
It also only works on one computer at a time, so if you work at home then you can't get the plugin working.
Having said that it is worth the asking price, but not sure I'd want to renew it yearly.
-
What is your hourly rate? For the time the plugins would save, it is certainly worth the annual price.
-
yes I'd rather pay for new versions. I don't like subscriptions. it seems a lot of companies are doing it now.
Thom Thom just updated his plugin Vertex tools and I thought it should have been a paid version update. but he's generous like that.
That being said I'm going to buy this right now.

He only takes paypal so now I have to wait... ARRRGGGHHHH!
-
It's great. I just had a bunch of railing to run, stairs too (although Chuck says it's not exactly a stair rail tool). If you have a close up, you may want to clean it up some but for a whole house model it saves a ton of time.

false alarm... you can pay with credit card. just have to follow a little deeper.

Seems a new piece of sofware!

I have purchased quite a lot of plugins from various developers and believe that they should be suitably rewarded for their efforts. I also do not like subscriptions. I prefer to pay the right price outright. However, I would still subscribe in an instant if the plugin didn't require an internet connection to operate. This plugin will not work when I am in locations that have no internet connection, which is fairly often.
I do not know why subscriptions are used as there is no requirement for me to continue a subscription when a newer plugin with more bells and whistles is released by another developer.
Hopefully the developer will release a version that does not require internet connection to operate.

I agree the subscription thing and requiring an internet connection feature is limiting, quite unlike his other plug-ins which are really good. Maybe he will tune up the access feature or at least explain why it needs to be this way. The price is well worth it - returns cost on first use.
I found that you can use on more than one computer, but you need to deactivate on the work computer and re-activate on the home computer. Bit of a pain but makes it sort of portable.
Hope we hear more from Chuck
