      That's hard to say. If you posted either one individually, my reaction would be the same, as both express the project, only with differring language.

        You spent considerable time creating the scene, materials, lighting, plants and then rendering and the image result is a success. The filtered watercolor is an imitation of the rendering. If the watercolor was created by hand and not a biproduct of the model it would then have a ranking against your rendering. From a practicle standpoint it seems hard to sell customers on digital NPR....most want to see images that portray fine material details, one against the other.

                  Can you please share how you did the trees and foliage. I'm currently on the hunt for material to do some landscaping and natural environments.

                        the palms are 3d. the foliage and trees behind is just a background image. because of su limitation in memory i just use 2d images in my bg. nothing special maybe.

                          I probably like the second one, simply because I really don't like faux watercolours etc but it's just a personal thing. I can still see the beauty in them though and number one from that respect is very good!
