      Hi all.
I have just recently uploaded this tower to Google Earth:
      http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=d081d26e374dfbe910fdcf21e6789f26&ct=mdsa

It has not been evaluated yet, but i would love to have som feedback from you guys, as it is my first attempt on this type of structure.
Any tips on how to do this better?

Nice model however when modelling these kinds of structures for GE, you should keep yourself to certain guidelines:
        http://support.google.com/sketchup/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1267395
and here is an example with a "similar" structure:

I am not saying that Googl will not accept the model but they would be happier with these solutions.

          Hi gaieus.

I tried going down the png/transparency road for the structure, but i was completely unable to get a good picture, because it is placed on top of a mountain, and it is impossible to get a "side in" view. All pictures where from below and up, and the structure was hopeless to get to look good enough for me to be able to make a good material. However, I used pictures from the tower for material, but i resized them to be really small. Would it be better to use bigger pictures? I was thinking about filesize when i did this.

Please forgive my norwenglish. I hope the sentences are possible to understand anyway. πŸ˜‰

Well, I understand that often it's practically impossible to take a good picture. Eventually you could however get just one side of your structure, export an image in an orthographic (parallel" view of it and make a good transparent png using that image. Then simply project the image onto a single surface.
