Frequent Freezing

Hi all. I have been using Sketchup for several years, but never have I experienced this issue. I am building a model of my Uncle's house, which is currently at 3600.53KB. My Lenovo laptop exceeds all the Sketchup 8 system requirements and I have purged unused and fixed problems. Every time I open the model and start working for a few minutes, the cursor begins to leave a trail of points on all the edges it encounters, even recognizing midpoints, intersections, etc... I am still able to use the tools, but they all leave such trails as well and it fails to let me orbit or pan. Windows recognizes this as a program that is not responding and if I restart the program, all is well for a short period of time. In desperation to resolve the issue I even toggled the Intel processor 3D graphics all the way to performance, thus sacrificing quality. After that did not work, I reinstalled Sketchup completely. It seemed fine for a while but then gave me the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. After a reboot, the problem reoccurred. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this? I would really love to finish this model!
Thank You!

Hi, Dylan:
First thing to check would be your graphics card. Is it integrated on the motherboard? Intel integrated graphics processors historically do not perform as well as discrete, separate graphics processors. However, this may not be the problem. I was just mentioning this as a possible issue. Some mobile processors do have the capability for Skecthup and OpenGL. For instance this TabletPC has a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family.
