Here's a website showing the construction of the new building going up next to the hospital where I work. It'll house a proton beam cancer treatment center among other things.

Check out May 3 and 4. On the 3rd you can see the three concrete pumpers pouring the first stage of the proton beam space. It's about 20 feet deep. It took 540 truckloads of concrete to fill that and they did it in one continuous pour. The photo on May 4 shows the finishers working on the concrete surface. What you see today in that part of the building is on top of that big pour.

Very cool Dave. I actually have a meeting at the Clearview Cancer Institute here in Huntsville today to walk 3 contractors through an interior fit up. That building has 3 of those rooms, almost identical. We got to visit the site many times during construction. Quite impressive. http://www.clearviewcancer.com/index.php/about_us/our_facility

          David,

Will patients be treated free-of-charge, or will they have to have medical insurance to benefit from the $100M gift?

          Regards,
          Bob

Bob, unfortunately it doesn't work that way in the US.

              Dear David,

I thought as much. Here in the UK, we have much to thank Aneurin Bevan for, being the so-called father of the NHS (http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/history/sites/themes/figures/aneurin_bevan.shtml).

This might be of interest to readers:

              Kind regards,
              Bob
