Drop Object plugins not working
-
I noticed today, that the two drop object plugins, drop to Z, and Jim's Mover 2 drop a set distance do not work. I tried both plugins, drop distance and drop to z plane, both plugins work with the original installed plugins from a fresh install, however, with my complete load of plugins, the drop to z plane drops around 5" and not to z plane. The Jim's Mover 2 drop to set distance does not works. Haven't used these plugins for some time, so not sure when they lost their function.
Anyone else having this problem. Resisting the requirement of going though each and every plugin.

Hidden geometry?
Does it happen also with my Raytracer plugin? (let you drop stuff)

Sorry about the lateness in my reply, out of the house. I made a flat plane at zero Z plane. Three objects/group, 2' in high, 10' above this plane. Jim's mover 2, in selecting dropping to Z plane, dropped down 1' foot, half the height of the objects. Your raytrace, also dropped down 1' foot. If I just have the the plugins that are installed with a new Sketchup install and then add Jim's or CAD Father's drop plugin, the object/groups drop to the z plane. It is just when I have all my plugin installed that this problem occurs. Guess I will need to go to divide and conquer route.
Thanks for your quick reply.

Can you post a sample model please?

Will I just finished the divided and test and was going to email you with the results. I sorted my plugins by date, so I have the latest plugins installed at the top of the list. I made 5 new directories, 1 thru 5, and cut and copied the first ten plugins. The other directories were to be used if I required more than ten plugins to be removed. Note, in the first ten plugins, I made sure that I had all ancillary plugins copied over also.
Open Sketchup, and tried your plugin, Jim's and the drop in Cadfathers toolbar. They all worked as expected. Individuality added each plugin back to Sketchup plugin folder, and darn, the problem never appeared again. As for the model, I just made a flat plane on the Z plane, and added three boxes above the plane, around 10' up. Nothing special. Same type of model I used when I found out I had the problem.
So I am at loss. What I didn't do, and was a mistake on my part, was to make sure the dropped plugins didn't work before I moved the 10 plugins. I just assumed that was the case, but can not be sure.
So now I have a good install. I intend to use the dropped plugins as I model to see if there is a set of plugins that I use that may cause the problem after use.
Thomthom, thank you for your replies. If I find the problems occurs doing modeling I will make a copy of my model to use as a test file.
