Window Positions Not Saving
-
The toolbar position bug has infected my computer. I never had this problem before but now it is driving me nuts. My toolbars need to be repositioned everytime I start SU.
I have two monitors and place all the toolbars on my second monitor. SU 7 took care of that with no problem. 8 ignores it. The toolbar save and restore command doesn't do anything.
I see this mentioned in the Forum, but I don't see a solution. Has anyone figured this out?

Also, the Update Scene dialog box won't stay where I put it. A serious problem when I'm working on an animation with 30 scenes!

I tried asking the same question to Google SketchUp. Much to my surprise, they gave no answer and instead suggested that I ask here in Sketchucation and told me how to return to version 7.
"My guess is that some combination of graphics drivers or default monitor settings would help."

Now my Layers window vanished and I can't find it! Anybody know about this???

My window positions are not saving. I never had this problem before but now it strikes every time I open SU.
I have two monitors and I used to keep all my option windows on the left and the main window on the right. Now they always open on top of each other, all on the right.
What happened? Do you have multiple monitors? How do you manage window positions?

No answers? Does that mean nobody except me has this problem?

Do you have a Desktop manager running such as nVIDIA Desktop ??

Yes

Yes
Well that may be saving the window positions and "restoring" them to the positions that you do not desire. Try running SketchUp without the Desktop manager running, or see if there are settings for the manager that allow it to ignore certain applications. SketchUp keeps it's own window position locations in it's own registry keys.
Alternately, find out what the manager command is to save/update a certain application's window(s) positions.
This happened to another user.

Yep! You got it, NVidia was repositioning my dialog windows. Thanks!! - Joel
