      Hi everyone,

I am wondering if you could help me, I am trying to complete many interior renders whcih include reflections, spotlights and thin glass. I keep getting noise and white spots in my renders and wondering why??

I have searched the forum and have tried completing the render with these settings:
      1600 x 1200
      10. Photomaps + caustics - medium +AA 0.3

I then have set fuzzy tracing to high, shadows high and checked specularities boxed.

I found these settings on this tutorial http://www.kerkythea.net/users/Fletch/TutorialsByFletch/KT-ModifyARenderPreset.htm

But the image below shows this is not correcting the problem.

Could anyone recommend any render settings for me? I need something quite quick as the deadline for this work is tomorrow. Also why is the wood floor texture I have used from kerkythea materials not appearing in the render?

Thank you in advance, regards suzi

If you use preset 19 or 20 ,MLT or MLT-BiPT you'll get a good renders, but be prepared to let it cook as they say for at least 80 passes or more could take several hours some I've seen on KT website took as long as a weekend depends on your PC Use all the treads you have dual or quad core maybe run it before you go to work or over night.

hi thanks for your replys, yea it's a bit dark i nedd it to be lighter but unsure of how to do this. It looks ok in skecthup but then when it renders it seems to go dark. I am going to try the MLT setting now to see if this works and better, hopefully won't take too long as I have a deadline tomorrow 😒

            Regards

Unbiased presets like "19. Metropolis Light Transport" are always safe, they take longer to render, but if you are not familiar with biased settings, you probably will save time. You might want to look on http://www.kerkythea.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9803 for some biased optimization, but generally better start from basics with getting started tutorial http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=42&func=fileinfo&id=89 and Fast Start 4Architects http://www.kerkythea.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=63986#63986
Also read trough the tutorials master list http://www.kerkythea.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5720

There is not much benefit from caustics in model like this (if you looking biased speed). Also you appear to have some modeling issues with light components, make sure that they don't intersect with geometry (as that gives moire pattern on surfaces).
