Install problems
-
I'm trying to help my son install the SketchyPhysics plugin.
Here's our process...
We installed SU v.8
We downloaded the MAC version of SketchyPhysics (SketchyPhysics3.2-Dec-2(MAC).zip)
We opened the zip file and the folder: SketchyPhysics3.2-Dec-2(MAC) folder showed up on our desktop.
I looked in the SU8 folder hoping to find a PlugIns subfolder, but there are no subfolders. Just "LayOut" "SketchUp" and "StylerBuilder".
I dragged the new folder (SketchyPhysics3.2-Dec-2(MAC)) into the SU8 folder hoping SU would "see" it an install the plugin. No deal.
We're running Mac OSX 10.5.8
Can anyone take the info I've provided and give us some guidance? Thanks so much.

Remove the stuff from where you put it !
Unlike a PC the MAC 'hides' the Plugins folder...
Restart Sketchup.
Type/Copy+Paste this into the Window > Ruby Console
Sketchup.find_support_file("Plugins")
It should show you the path to the Plugins folder...
It should be something like
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/Plugins
Put the files/subfolder in there...
Restart Sketchup.
You should now have the menu items etc as expected...
Read the instructions for the tool about activation, usage etc...
