Making round corner from sharp line angles
-
Hi,
I have just started to use sketchup and I have searched a lot for a function or plugin that could join lines and then change the corners to a specific radius. I can join the lines with the welding plugin, but I don't find any function for making round corners by specifying the radius.
I usually draw a lot of mechanical parts with MS Visio 2007 and I use this "corner rounding tool" very often.
It would be perfect if this function could be applied to SU. Especially when you should make tubes, tubular frames etc. Then it would be possible to make a path by drawing the line ends to the center points, join them and change all sharp ends to a specific radius in a click. Instead of attaching an arc to a straight line (measure and making support lines etc), make a new straight line, and make an arc and so on....
I also miss the "size and position window" in where you can see the dimensions of a shape and change the dimensions, angle or position by typing values.
If there are no functions or plugin's similar to this, would it be possible to make that?
In the attached prt sc. I have just changed the corners by marking the shape and typing the radius I whant.
Regards,
Simon

By way of clarification the usual term for this is "fillet". And as gilles suggested, TIG's 2d Tools has a very versatile version.

Thanks, for the replies!
"Fillet" are know in my English vocabulary
I downloaded 1001Bit tools yesterday (I thought the Ad machine was a user that replied my question ) and their fillet function was nice, I will check TIG's 2d tools today.

Ah well, it seems that the Ad machine serves good purposes sometimes!
