Terracotta roof tiles
-
Just wondering, is there a plugin, DC or something available to create clay/terracotta roof tiles? I can do it manually but the roof I'm trying to cover is not simple so I was hoping there was a quicker solution, I do not need a roof maker, just a roof skinner (add tiles)
Failing that, does anyone have a good seamless clay tile texture with bump/displacement maps?

Pete. . .funny you should ask for that at this particular time. I am working on a Spanish Style house as we speak, so Hey out there! If you have a plugin for this, I could use it too.
I am sure Pete would be willing to pay handsomely, and then I can get it from him!

Not really.
In the meantime Pete, I don't know how great these are, but here're a few textures that you could try. (these probably aren't seamless, but I think with your wizardry, you could make something of them.)

Here are a few nice Substances -- these can be modified within the free Substance Player to whatever style and variation you need and output to whatever resolution and file format you want:

hmmm....that looks great. Especially if I understood it!

Yeah, these are basically a similar idea as Dynamic Components but for textures instead of models.
Very powerful stuff -- I own the full software to author Substances, but it is not required to leverage the power of any pre-made Substance... and there are quite a few nice ones available.

Remember Instant Roof by Chuck Vali? It does a GREAT tile. Even the free version. But you do have to let it design the roof I think, so that might be tough if the roof is very customized or something.

Here's a Dynamic roof tile component, Zanda.
My first, and only DC

It should be pretty easy to replace the tile with other types?
