EPAR - Energy Accumulating and Dissipating Converter

EPAR - (Energy Accumulating and Dissipating Converter) is a method of protecting physical objects against the effects of collisions and shocks by reducing their consequences. EPAR works by replacing a substantial part of the kinetic energy of the colliding object into kinetic energy of accumulating and dissipating converters. This innovative method was developed by a team of Polish scientists, researchers and inventors in the recent years. EPAR method helps to reduce the effects of collisions by absorbing its kinetic energy and transferring it to internal systems. During an accident the kinetic energy instead of being coverted into the work which destroys the object, it is transferred to the mechanical accumulators that reduce the effects of collisions by at least 50%. We are currently analysing various possibilities of implementing EPAR method into various target solutions.

This guy - the inventor has shown his invention first time in 1998 he has shown the bumper test with Fiat 126p.
The driver was hitting an absorbing barrier with a speed of 45km/h (without using seat belts) and the car was whole intact.
The colliding objects are not destroyed since their energy is channeled to an accumulator which dissipates it slowly.After so many years his efforts, now supported by his son, bringing this invention to Universities and public is a fact.

It has received gold medals during 39th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, The 3rd International Invention Fair of the Middle East 2010 and Innova Exhibition in Brussels.

It is pure mechanical. It transforms kinetic linear energy into stored kinetic rotary energy using the rotary inertia as a cushion. This system is really simple. In the video you can see and hear the flywheels spinning up to very high rpm.
This guy also invented a new car breaking system that stops a car in a way that a vehicle and a driver experience just say 5% of a normal G force. He said that when one tries it for a first time, the experience is very surreal, because we are used to a completely different reaction from our senses! He says, it is like watching a film with a car stopping or 'breaking' in a computer game.
Currently It will be used as docking protection in harbours, also in outer space and for road barriers, but number of possible applications is huge.
