Tomsdesk trees rendered in Maxwell...?

Actually, what exactly is what you are asking? Maxwell renders any model and it doesn't cough if you have many polygons.
Or you are worried about materials? Maxwell "knows" sss for dingle faced geometry, so you can benefit of that for leafs. -

Hi Tom
Maxwell render 5min - used the single sided sss on each material - seems fine.
The level of detail for Maxwell is not enough to warrant creating a material for the leaves...

-shape OK
-texture OK
-shadows OKYour trees render OK
