Sad news indeed...

Peace to Wesley.
He was always helpful and insightful on the forum, but more than that his posts often seemed to convey a kind and humble nature.

I'm speechless. And sad
I'm sure he's not. -
It took me a moment to understand what happened...but I am still lost for words.
Seems like a long time since IΒ΄ve heard any good news.
Rest in peace, Honoluludesktop. -
I am saddened to hear about Honolulu's passing. I also enjoyed his thoughfull and helpfull comments.
I agree 100% with the post "Box" made above. It is hard to know what to say. The concept of virtual friends is new but the sence of loss is very real. I wish and pray for his family to find peace. -
So very sad, I too am unfamiliar how one mourns for a virtual friend, yet I feel so sadden by the loss of someone I have never met. I have had many discussions on forum and via pm and email with Wesley, however I always referred to him as Honolulu. I only wished he would have made it to a basecamp so Iβd at least have had a beer with him in order to validate the loss Iβm feeling.
My heartfelt condolences to his family and everyone feeling his loss. He was a gentleman and always around to help when he could, SCF has lost a great member. -
Like most people here I didn't know him personally, but Honolulu's passing has affected me much harder than I would have expected. Perhaps because this is such a close-knit little community. I've never been very good at expressing myself, so I'll just say RIP, Honolulu.

I never imagined that the death of a person I didn't knew personally will affect me . It did. Was he that old?
I learned a lot from this community and I'm not talking about sketchup, but about dedication, about selflessness. Let's just hope we will not get such news in near future.Rest in peace!
No, I believe Wesley was only 65 or there abouts. I will try to locate his daughter's, Elizabeth's address and send all these heart felt wishes. I am sure it will bring her some small comfort knowing more about an area of Wesley's life that she may not have been aware of.

He had many friends his daughter may not be aware of, even if we are online, we are real people displaced by geography only.

Mike, thank you for the news. It is very sad news. I am fortunate to have had a moment to seek advice and insight from Wesley via pm. Just one of the lucky members that was able to tap into one of the forums responsible and helpful power members. My thoughts are with his family and the design communities in California and Hawaii that will miss him.

one of the great things about our architectural profession is that our structures and teachings last long after we are gone... perhaps someone could put together a small gallery of Wesley's work in honor...
-
.......So so Sad.
and may be his insightful contributions in a single post.
May his gentle soul rest in the bossom of the Lord. -
