      Hi,

Ive been trying to master CAD drawings and obviously sketchup for 3 weeks now. Its like I take 1 step forward 3 steps backwards.

I can then do 1 part but when trying to do another part I fail. At this rate ill of grown old and wont want to even fix the problem anymore as ill of got so angry with it my mouse will be destroyed πŸ˜†

So I was wondering if someone could draw it for me, its a very simple shape...which makes it worse and a copy of a broken part I have and willing to send to the person to make it even easier for them. Of course I'd be willing to pay the person a small fee as well as my sanity is worth it 😲 Anyone who is even half remotely good at sketchup im sure would complete it within a few hours.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for posting this type of thing. Please message me if interested

Why not post images and the model and see maybe someone can help you learn to do it instead of having to pay.

After all we are here to help.

thanks for your hope in me πŸ˜„ however I know my skill area and CAD design is not it, I did learn that at college but I did hope age and wisdom may of improved my skill in this area.

Below is an image of what im trying to create. the light grey is the original, the black is actually a casting i did from left over moulding I had, but the plastic resin this way isnt strong enough.

It has a horrible curved surface throughout. Unfortunatly the logic of my brain doesnt work with images and perspective well. My area of work is logicial investigation and I really struggle with this type of work. I think for an amateur the shape makes it harder with all the curves throughout. Only thing I will say is my lack of the right plugin's may be hindering me.

If the face of the moulding is flat, except for round the edges (which it seems to be) you can make it using the steps in the attached file.
The Round Corners ruby by Fredo can be found here.
And if you want a higher resolution of mesh, just use shorter lengths when you're tracing around the outline...and more segments to the curved edge when you are setting parameters for the curve.

And if you require an actual thickness to the mesh, you can add that afterwards by using Fredo's Joint Push/Pull script. You]ll need to hit Tab part way through the process in order to change the default parameters from erasing the original (exterior) face to retaining it.

              Hi folks.

              Same idea without plugins.
