Which software do you think complete SU?
-
Thank you both, Ill keep that in mind.
but for example if you want to do some carvings, is SU enough for you( I mean, isnt another software say...Zbrush better for these kind of things).
The reason that I mentioned Zbrush is because my friend said to me learn this software too, as you are learning SU.
what is your recommendation about it as a teacher to me?

Simlab Composer for an easy renderer, easy animation and 3D PDF creator and Ipad files viewer
Integrated or not Inside SU so you can use it for anything!Thank you dear pilou. Ill surely check it out

Well, what do you want to make? ZBrush represents a very powerful and different modeling style. I've heard many argue it is the future of modeling, but that was a few years ago and so far it has not taken over the world - augmented it yes, but it has not single handedly shut down other modelers.
But if what you're looking for is how to make more complex shapes than SU makes easily, I suppose zbrush is a good way to go. As would be Rhino, or Maya, or 3dsmax.

please correct me if Im wrong.
you are saying that if I learn SU proic and good it will be enough for modeling in any concept?[ in other words SU works as good as other softwares but in a easy way(rendering aside)?]
Thank you -
I think SU works very well for engineering and architectural work. If you need to model organic shapes principally, it falls far short in capability IMO. ZBrush, Maya, Rhino, etc have tools that are designed and suited to manipulating the complex meshes that organic shapes tend to have more efficiently.
You could do organics in SU, but the time involved would be orders of magnitude longer than using an application like Maya for example.
Cheers.

Thank you dear Jeff. I appreciate your help

If you want more precisions (real circles, real and very more powerful booleans) and tensile bloby strutures forms
maybe you must see Moment Of Inspiration (MOi)
a nurbs modeler with the same ergonomy spirite than SU, very easy, very speedy learning curve
and direct exportation with SKP format
you have an infinite demo without save and a 30 days try with save !
Sufficient for make some cool adventures in nurbsland! -
What I asked was
@chris fullmer said:
what do you want to make?
So no, I'm not saying that if you get good enough at SU you can make anything with it. What I'm saying is that it depends on what you want to make. Many people that use SU never need anything more. It is the best 3dmodeler for lots of things.
But if you want to design the characters of Pirates of the Carribean - with all their animated sea life attathced to their skin:
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=036668SU can't do that. So you would need zbrush for that. Really, lots of organic characters with special detail needs are great in zbrush.
Or if you need to model fluid dynamics, SU isn't the best for that, go for a fluid modeler. If you need solid modeling, go for a solid modeler, etc.
But, your question was
@unknownuser said:
which software or softwares complete SU?
Which says nothing about why you may think SU is incomplete, or what else you need it to do? So for me, the one main thing I need is better image output control. Maybe for someone else the best software that completes SketchUp is iTunes.
But if you really meant to ask which software will do better organic modeling of crazy creatures? - then sure, learn zbrush Its an awesome software.

Or begin first by Sculptris ( a free one) then Zbrush
by CTran3D -
Dear pilou.
Those were 2 great suggestion.
especially Sculptris. I shake your hand from this long distance.

Dear chris
Im like human on earth, seeking 2nd home . is it gonna be Mars or Moon or is it gonna be Gliese 581d?
the reason I asked was problem in some complex carving which my friend suggested zbrush and ... But I got it By answers.
Thank you.
