2D Plan Entourage
-
Hi Guys,
While looking for what is available in the 2D entourage scene last week I came across http://www.2dplan.com I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a very large selection of 2D symbols for plans and elevations. I particularly like to 'Pencil' range as I think it works well with SketchUp 2D output.
The range covers, Furniture, Modern Furniture, People, Trees and Shrubs, Cars, Home accessories and Tiles texture maps.
I attach a sample of one of their .png files in a watercolor effect.

nice find, mike. it is a pity it is so expensive. formfonts is better priced and you can use the same models in 2d and 3d.
-
I suppose price is all relative to what a person uses them for / in. However it would be a one off payment
-
I agree, the material is quite good. however, I would not mind having a more neutral collection, one that would not call so much one's attention to the entourage.
-
Thanks Mike. Great find. The Trees and Shrubs are very nice and a good price - http://www.2dplan.com/treesandshrubs.html

@ Modelhead
I've always liked presenting 2D 'tilted in perspective' for presentation. 3D entourage doesn't work with this process but these symbols will do nicely, especially the 'pencil' styles.Hey! it looks like this find of mine took your interest ...... as a friend of mine says .... 'even a blind dog finds a bone now and then'!
@ EarthMover
Though they would appeal to you@ Edson
I imagine you would be listened to if you contacted the developer and voiced what you would like to see. I will PM you the contact email. If anyone else wants it let me know via PM.Hope to see some nice 2D plans possibly in Layout being produced now and presented here

my mother/partner she draws by hand and sketches the first phase of our plans in color...
things like this... albeit an older one. she does this basically freehanded. she has the artistic touch like Boo has. I do not have this ability.
I would be interested in being able to mimic this ability... but the pricing on the site is a little confusing. what is the cost for the whole set?
-
I agree with you Kris, the pricing is a little confusing. I will see if I can get the developers over here to offer assistance.

PS: Your Mom has a good hand. Its either something one is born with or not
-
yeah she's incredible... thanks.

That stuff looks really good, Mike. And Kris, I like your illustrations as well as those your mom has done.
I've been thinking about creating a collection of materials for SketchUp that could perhaps mimic some of the variety of hand colored styles. I have done a few experimental materials but i would like to come up with some process that might be automated somehow to make a wide range of colors with the same sorts of styles applied to them. I have an idea about that but need to get some other things out of the way, first.
