Sort of. I ditched the idea of executing this in ink and watercolor. I won't bother you with details about all the fretting and brooding (and occasional swearing). Long story short: I'm a reasonably decent draughtsman, but not nearly good enough to 'scr*w up' in a predictable and consistent manner.
I've just ordered a Canon PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II, and will be re-rendering this image.
Edit: apart from you, seemingly no-one likes this image, while I feel it's one of my best so far. I find that puzzling. If someone would elaborate on why he/she doesn't like the image, I'd be much obliged. (You needn't worry you'd walk into a flame war - I am genuinely interested!)
