Thank you Eric. I'll be interested to see if it gets built.

Cool stuff, will work for me as I only have about 5 pairs of shoes....my wife on the other hand will need 50 of those.

Pete, I could easily stretch that bench to be a couple of hundred feet long. 😄

Can you add a filing system on top of that another couple hundred feet for my wife's teacher stuff. And I think that will be sufficient for the shoes too.

Excellent work, Dave. But then, we wouldn't expect less. Wouldn't surprise me if you had built it already with real materials. 💚

                  mitcorb,

Thank you. These days I seem to be doing a whole lot more drawing work for other woodworkers than for myself. And I seem to get very little woodworking done. Actually, if we had room in the foyer of our house, I wouldn't mind having something like this.

Looks elegant enough for a foyer. Maybe a sturdier modified version for a mudroom?

no . .but she has more shoes than a family of centipedes.

Naw. . I'm just kiddin' honey!

                            (she's actually very shoe sensible)

Centipedes. Now that's funny. Even if it isn't true. 😆

Well, the client decided on fixed shelves and slab doors instead so that's what they get.

Probably a better use of the interior volume but I like the tilt out door better.

Dave. . that is a neat piece of furniture. I like the pull down door option but I could go both ways.

Thanks David. I agree with you.

I designed it for solid wood but it could be done in plywood or veneered MDF with a solid wood face frame and door parts. The back is made of slats but could be easily modified to beadboard. The door panel could also be replaced with beadboard. Slab doors don't thrill me too much but the piece is narrow enough that I think two frame and panel doors might look a little odd.

Now if you could draw/show me how to build the shoe rack from the movie Overboard from the 80's i'd be eternally grateful 😄

Shall I change the word "shoe" to something else? Maybe I could change it to "aardvark". There's probably not as many aardvark spammers as there are shoe spammers.
