      Cactus Barrier
I have some prickly pear cactus that is insisting on growing into the entry portico on my house. I have been trying to imagineer some sort of a grill that I could use for a barrier. I adapted this gate from the SU warehouse. Unfortunately anything nice in the real world is beyond my budget.

Well, at least this will keep out the virtual prickly pear. πŸ˜‰

        Nice work.

Looks good, Roger. One challenge, though (there are no problems, only challenges), is getting the grill to fit around the base of the column.
Have you thought of a low wall? One problem I've noticed with shrubs in similar locations (not familiar with cacti) is that, due to limited sunshine from that direction, they usually aren't to attractive when viewed from the porch.

          My avatar is an anachronism.

Daniel, I didn't think anybody would look that carefully, but you are correct. I could lift the grill and then add a decorative scroll at the bottom that would account for the narrowed space at the base. Actually, I am looking right now at a iron book case filled with flowers and small cacti.
