Sketchup crashing

sketchup crashing while attempt to open/save any file ....i reinstalled my system and the too tried,and i updated my grafix card driver too....and i even updated direct X...and i also disable hardware acceleration......nothing working for me.... i am using acer aspire 7720,nvidia sketchup 7....and all the crashing thing happens after the installation of vray1.48 for sketchup.....

What do you mean you formatted your system?
And, what do you mean you updated DirectX?
If you can provide information on your operating system, graphics card and Sketchup version, I believe someone here may be able to guide you.
Edit Again: well, I see you are using Vista and Sk v 7. How about the card? Intel, ATI, Nvidia, other?? -
DirectX is not used by SU. It employs OpenGL therefore it is important to have a decent, dedicated graphics card. Try a test; go to Window (menu in SU) > Preferences > OpenGL settings and disable hardware acceleration. Now restart SU and see if there is any change. If yes, it is your graphics card (driver? although you have just updated that).

i have the same problem...but with mac... i turned off the " improve speed " under preferences. and still it crashes.

Before SU was working? I had also allways some crashes some time ago i could not explain... "Repair" SU was not successful but "deinstall" completely and new installation and all was fine...
