House and garden

No render, no background, just a raw SU image but, well I enjoy this kind of thing and it makes my clients happy.

we don't need no stinkin renderer... looks great. nice work on the vegetation.

Thanks, although I can't take credit for a lot of the veg. Just modified it to make it what it need to be

oh I know... same with me... I was complimenting the placement...

Looks great. While I love the renders here, it's good to see just plain old SketchUp output.
One question, though. The sky looks good. Is that a picture? I ask because I thought that could be done, but I haven't tried it yet.

Thanks - plants is kind of why I do this.
Bryan - In this case the sky is from here - http://www.gaieus.hu/su/Cloudy.style - but you can definetely do cool stuff with pictures. Here's one which lacks a bit in subtlety but kind of works anyway - still has some things that need fixing but nevermind. (edited a little bit because there is still work I should be doing and this is more entertaining)

Thanks again dorfpunk.

And to give proper credits, (I think) it was Chris Fullmer's sky creation shared back on the old @Last Forums.
And yes, certainly it's kind of "refreshing" to see some native SU output nowadays when we are spoilt with the abundance of rendering apps and rendered models!
