Render program test
-
I have been going through a a couple of programs trying to work out which works for me given what I make models of, how I tend to do the modeling and what I am after as a result.
Anyway, this is with Shaderlight - it is kind of cool. I haven't put a background on it and haven't run it through photoshop at all. I didn't do the cushions myself as I am lazy.
If anyone has any suggestions about rendering landscapes and outdoor scens I'd love to hear them.

Vue is usually the best solution for landscapes and outdoor renders

I've added some PS work to try and give it some life. Still not totally happy but it's getting there. Wish the 'glass' setting in shaderlight didn't turn my semi-frameless pool fence black though.

You might try setting a skylight portal on the glass fence if you want light to shine through it. Or set your glass material to thin glass. The grass texture seems washed out. Can you adjust global illumination or modify the texture to make it darker?

Nice work on the rendering, I hope you are getting on ok with Shaderlight. There are some videos on the website which show different aspects of Shaderlight http://www.artvps.com/index.php/tutorials/shaderlight. If you do get stuck please email support@artvps.com and the support team will be able to give you a hand.
With regards to the glass, I would lighten the colour of the glass material in SketchUp. If the glass has 2 layers to represent a thickness this will make it appear darker in the render.
Hope this helps
