      Hello I have a .igs file that I need to import into sketchup.
      I am using SketchUp 7, on a mac.

        the IGES format contains surfaces based on NURB splines which can be used by NRUBS modelers only, for using in SU you need the NURB surfaces converted to triangulated polygon meshes first... either by using a converter resp. CAD system or by asking the creator to provide you meshed data in an appropriate format which can be imported in SU as e.g. OBJ, 3DS, DXF/DWG or Collada DAE.

          Download Rhino and export a DXF or other file type SU will open.
          There are many other programs which can also do this, some of which do not cost money.
