Drawing accurate triangles
-
Hi everyone.
I am a newby to the forum but have been using sketchup for my own use for some time - mainly to draw fairly simple things in a very simple way. I have been very impressed with the programme. So far all my examples have been based on right-angled objects.
I have just started to use sketchup 8.
I have been trying to draw an irregular shaped ground plan that is measured by a series of triangles. I have been trying to draw these using intersecting circles. However when I measure the distances to a point of intersection of two circles with the correct radii, I find that the intersection point is not accurate. Circles seem to be represented by polygons so the intersection points are not very accurate - the discrepancy is 30mm in 4000 in one of my examples.
How can I draw these triangles easily and accurately in sketchup 8?
I would greatly appreciate any help you can give.

Hi Gordon and welcome!
This is the plugin you need:

Many thanks Gaieus for the quick response. I have installed the plugin (my first!) and it works.
Thanks again.

Fine. That would have been the second thing if you hadn't installed any plugins yet.
Over that site you can find lots of cool plugins for these kinds of mathematical and geometrical things.
