Disable Axis Snapping

It would be really helpful if it were possible to disable axis snapping (and parallel etc.) - i.e. to draw on a surface.
I know that there is a freehand function in the "tools on surface" which can do this, which works great, but it would be good to have this for all functions. -
Hide the axes!
No problem as you don't want to snap on the axes

Pilou, if you hide the axes, axis snap is still on!
Numerobis: have you tried TIG's 2D tools? (I guess you are drawing in 2D when you wish this as it would be impossible to work in 3D without the proper axes tools) -
It wouldn't be impossible to work in 3d; it would make things more flexible! (by posting this, I am secretly pushing through my selective-snapping-disabling agenda)
