I've been using this for afew weeks, it seems a great tool but I can't seem to get real good results. I've checked out the tutorials for the basics and wondered if anyone has a tutorial or models using S & showing the techniques involved

Do you have an example of what it does not do well? Are you just unable to get it to work completely?, or does it not quite do what you want?

Chris, I was trying to draw a model like your avatar!
So I draw the collar( semi circle) and a larger one for the belly and use S&B
I can blow the belly up but on the sides the "roundness" goes flat
I'll try and send an attachment....how do you do that?

I understand how to use the tool, how can you make it more controlable?
So maybe you can blow up only a part of the skin
Can you show me any models that you have used S&B in -
see the Thumb slot left page bottom "Upload attachment"
click on it
choose your file then "add the file"

You can also try Extrude tools (by 2 rails) by Tig or Curviloft by Fredo6

WHat you really probably want to use is something like the subdivide and smooth plugin. Solo has a lot of incredible work shown here on the forums where he makes cartoon characters using that plugin. TRy to dig through the gallery for solo's posts about subdivide and smooth.
