Render this: Sci Fi helicopter

It's the first render this thread of the year (I'm slack)
Anyway, Rich O'Brien has been kind enough to offer his Avatar helicopter as a model for use in the next render challenge.
You are free to texture it as you please, create a scene, blow it up, crash it, your choice.
The idea this time is creating a sci fi feel, render, paint, whatever you feel will best work for you.
Most importantly, have fun. (no time limits)

P.S. Pete, did I miss something or did you never put up the Christmas "render this" challenge?

The challenge ended after Chritmas or there about, I had the tree and all ready but figured that it's pointless as who wants to do christmas renders after the fact. I will be more organised this year however.

Maybe, you should open it up in the middle of the summer. Just to give us a little holiday cheer.

The moon is a nice touch.O.K. I took a shot at it. Don't laugh too, too hard.
Besides the fact that I cannot render, I have no post-pro experience either so this was an, er, learning experience for me.

well its good you took a shot, and you managed the rotor blur post pro well done! lots of people would be lazy and not bother with that bit!

I use paintshop, not sure it has those options, or not sure I know where to even look for them.

What planet is this? Some islands look familiar. Nice work, these trees so close to the see, on rocks... but its another planet. -

ely862me, excellent scenes, the vector version is my favorite. (its a vector conversion isn't it?) Could make a great poster.
