      Hello,

I just downloaded smustard's HealFaces and put it into my plugins folder but it won't show up in SketchUp. Running SU 7.1 on MAC OS 10.4.11. Any ideas?
      Thanks,
      Tamera

Is that the MakeFaces script? If so, it appears in the "Tools" menu. Try looking there for it,

        Chris

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

Yes, sorry, it is MakeFaces and it is in "Tools" but it didn't work. I have imported an AutoCad file-a drawing of an entire development, but when I select the drawing and try to use MakeFaces it just says "0 faces created." I don't rally know what to do from here-I sure don't want to redraw all of those lines to create the faces though-any suggestions? Thanks, Tamera

Did you prepare the Autocad drawing properly before importing? I mean all data is z=0? No blocks, no extraneous, or "far flung from origin" data? Defpoints removed? All vectors snapped to other vectors? Or should you chamfer all intersections with a zero value in the chamfer? Choose one of the orthographic side views in Autocad and see if stuff exists above or below the z plane. If so, you will have to change xyz parameters in the properties window of all vectors. If you have "smart" blocks such as doors and windows with header and sill data, these may be a problem unless you explode them twice. You will find those blocks are not so smart after all.
Maybe none of this applies here. Just trying to help.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

              Tamera,

By any chance is your cad import not grouped (imported as a group)? If so, try to edit (or explode) the group and run the plugin on the bare edges...

(Me only stabbing in the dark, too)

              Gai...

                Hi Guys,

Yes, it was the way I imported it. I got the faces! Yea! So now I am working on fixing some of the faces that didn't get made right. I found the tutorial about this so I'll work from there and see if I can get it together. Thanks so much for your help guys-I really appreciate it. Tamera
